BIO

George Morales III is currently the Travis County Constable in Precinct 4. Born and raised in Austin, he grew up in the Dove Springs Community. Constable Morales graduated from Johnston High School and graduated from Huston-Tillotson University, Summa Cum Laude.

Constable Morales is a highly decorated police officer in Travis County: a certified Master Peace Officer with 27 years of public experience, a certified Gang Investigator, Civil Process Proficient, Basic Police Instructor, and Mental Health Officer, among other certifications. He has been recognized twice by the State of Texas for community policing and public safety.

“The People’s Constable”, George is a community activist that has worked tirelessly in East Austin. He was instrumental in upgrading the Dove Springs Recreation Center and surrounding parkland. Constable Morales is president of the Dove Springs Advisory Board which annually distributes school supplies and nearly 5,000 backpacks for over 74,000 students. He hosts an annual Thanksgiving Dinner for area residents, feeding up to 6,000 families each year. Constable Morales is a Neighborhood Representative for Southeast Travis County and has provided mentoring & family services for AISD schools, Austin Parks and Recreation. He’s partnered with Health Services to establish clinics in his precinct, advocating for the first Southeast Health and Wellness clinic bond that was approved opened in 2024.

Constable Morales lives in Dove Springs and attends Guadalupe Catholic Church with his wife of 33 years, Maria Cristina, along with their two youngest children, Johnny and Marissa. George’s mission has always been to educate, motivate, and inspire the community we serve.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION

George has been honored with the Presidential Community Service Award three times, the One Gold Award from President Obama, the Travis County Youth Advocate Community Service Award, the City of Austin Distinguished Service Award, the Central Texas Justices of Peace and Constables Association Deputy of the Year, and other numerous law enforcement awards.

Constable Morales received the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Achievement Award for Public Service in 2018 and 2021. The National Association Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) awarded him with their “Never Quit Service Award” in 2019 for his community service. His latest and proudest honor is having his name added to the local recreation center “The George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center”. George led the COVID-19 Travis County Mobile Vaccine Collaborative that administered over 380,000 vaccines in the Eastern Crescent to those with the greatest need.

Currently, his Precinct 4 outreach team is signing up residents that qualify for reduced cost broadband internet service. He was just elected as the Justice of the Peace Constables Association Representative for Central Texas (District 7).
